Balmaha House offers prime views over Loch Lomond right on the West Highland Way and just 7 miles from Ben Lomond, Scotland's most southerly Munro (a Scottish Mountain over 3000ft). Both front rooms overlooking Balmaha Bay and many of the southern islands of Loch Lomond. The single rear room over looks woodland.
Served in the Conservatory is a full Scottish Breakfast where it is often possible to view Osprey catching their early morning meal also! Please let us know in advance should you wish any special diet as we are almost 40 miles round trip from the Supermarket, but it is your Holiday and we wish to make you stay as pleasant as we can. All rooms are en-suite with radio, TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
Tariffs for these rooms with breakfast are £30 per person per night in the double rooms and single room (which does not have loch views) or if you are wishing double rooms with single occupancy it is £40pppn, (still £30 for the single room). The Tapestry room has a kigsize bed in it.
By mid spring we will have a bunkhouse open at £20pppn, self service breakfast with cereal drink and toast, but cooking facilities in a modern kitchen should you wish to cook more extensively. Alternatively, for accommodation only, costs are £15pp in the bunkhouse.
We are able to take people out on trips on Loch Lomond, or for those with experience, Kayaks or Canadian Canoes can be hired for £25 per day/ £20 per half day. A catamaran is also available. We are right on the shores of Loch Lomond and just some 5 min paddling to the first of the Islands (Inchcailloch), where you can hop and explore other islands with castles, deer, capercaille and even wallabies, ancient graveyards with the burying place of Rob Roy`s Cousin and some of the most scenic landscapes in the world.
